Father and son

Many authors will tell you of a mentor who was strategic in their development as a fledgeling writer. My mentor was my own father who wrote books for as long as I can remember. When I began writing, he was the first one to offer encouragement, author to author. He continued to do that until he died in 2006.

He and my mother sat down with each new manuscript, reading several of them, out loud, together. I have no doubt that this has had a profound effect on how I have reached my goal of writing adventures for kids.

Biography:
KEN ANDERSON
(December 23, 1917 - March 12, 2006)

Pioneer, teacher, pastor, filmmaker, communicator, author, missionary, each of these titles may represent the life's work of any one individual and yet they are all facets in the life of Ken Anderson. But it is in the field of writing that one is able to get a glimpse into his heart.

Raised on a simple farm in northwest Iowa, Ken has traveled the world in his quest to spread the Gospel. Along with a handful of others in 1948 he helped pioneer the Christian film industry. This led to his founding of Gospel Films, Ken Anderson films, and Intercomm.

He studied at Wheaton College and Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He has produced such films as The Family That Changed the World, In His Steps, Pilgrims Progress and hundreds of others. Ken has published over seventy books including Bold as a Lamb, and the best selling Where to Find it in The Bible.

Though his dedication to Christian service has included several forms of expression, writing has always been his first love. It is through his writings that readers are challenged with fresh insights into a deeper relationship with God.
